Porcelain Veneers Chesapeake VA

Dr. Cappy Sinclair of Coastal Cosmetic Dentistry is a highly trained cosmetic dentist. He specializes in porcelain veneers in his Chesapeake, VA area dentist office. Porcelain veneers can be used to make subtle or dramatic changes to your smile. They will give you a new smile that will blend with your natural appearance and feel comfortable. Porcelain veneers are a great alternative to teeth whitening when the teeth are severely stained.

What are dental veneers?

Custom-made for you in a dental lab, porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, shell-like coverings for your teeth that will look and feel like natural teeth. The medical-grade material offers advanced treatment to meet your cosmetic needs and durable results that will resist stains. Considered a permanent dental restoration, porcelain veneers can be used to address:

  • aging teeth that have worn down
  • broken or chipped teeth
  • stained, discolored, or yellowed teeth
  • stained, unsightly, or washed-out dental fillings
  • misshapen or crooked teeth that do not need orthodontic treatment
  • gaps between teeth

The Veneer Process

Dr. Sinclair will perform an in depth evaluation of your teeth, mouth and gums. If he determines that porcelain veneers can help with your cosmetic concerns, he will create a very detailed, customized treatment plan.

Using a high-speed laser scanner, Dr. Sinclair will take digital impressions of your teeth. These will be instantly uploaded onto a computer where he can design your veneers in a timely fashion. The design plans will be sent to the in-office E4D milling machine and the veneers are made in just minutes.

When the veneers are ready, Dr. Sinclair will try them on for fit, aesthetics, and function. He will make any minor adjustments if needed. Then they will be permanently cemented to your teeth for an instant smile makeover.

Our dentist in Virginia Beach VA will review with you how to care for your veneers. You should continue a normal oral hygiene routine which includes regular brushing, flossing, and rinsing with a mouthwash. Even though porcelain veneers are stain-resistant, we do recommend minimal consumption of tooth-staining foods and drinks. If you do have a cup of coffee or glass of wine, it is recommended that you brush your teeth after or at least rinse with some water. We also highly recommend avoiding tobacco use because it can reduce the lifespan and appearance of your veneers.
