Clear Aligners Chesapeake VA

Clear aligners are an orthodontic treatment option for teens and adults who have mild to moderate problems and want to straighten their smiles for cosmetic and dental health reasons. Clear aligners are a safe, comfortable, convenient, and virtually unnoticeable option for a straighter and healthier smile. Additionally, clear aligners won’t damage teeth, gums, or TMJ, and many patients see full results in as little as 6 – 12 months.

Are You A Candidate For Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are for teen and adult patients who need orthodontic treatment to correct crooked teeth issues. Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Cappy Sinclair will evaluate your condition to determine your candidacy. Clear aligners may treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Spaces or gaps between teeth
  • Underbite, overbite, or crossbite
  • Narrow tooth arches
  • Follow up care for previous orthodontic treatment

What Are Invisible Braces?

Transparent aligner systems use a unique, ultra-thin, hard-soft plastic material. The aligners are custom-made for the patient using impressions of the teeth. Most patients complete their treatment in 6 to 12 months.

Clear Aligners vs. Metal Braces

Straightening your teeth will support long-term dental health and provide the smile you have always wanted. Invisible braces alleviate many of the hassles associated with traditional metal braces:

  • No dietary restrictions
  • Easy removal for cleaning and routine dental care
  • Discreet treatment
  • No risk of tooth enamel staining from permanently attached brackets

The Clear Aligner Process

Dr. Sinclair will create 3D images of your teeth using digital scanning technology. He will use these images of your teeth to map out a custom treatment plan that will gently move your teeth into alignment. Dr. Sinclair will be able to show you step by step how your smile will transform over the next few months. Finally, we send your customized treatment plan to the dental lab.

Clear aligners are custom designed to fit firmly against your teeth and to avoid irritation of your lips, tongue, and gums. We will contact you when your invisible braces made of ultra-thin, hard-soft plastic material are ready.

You should wear your aligners for at least 22-23 hours a day. After that, they should only be removed to eat and brush. You will change out the aligners that you will receive in the mail about once a week.
