Invisalign® Norfolk VA

One of the things patients always mention wanting is a straight, even smile. Invisalign is a subtle way to do just that. It takes care of mild to moderate orthodontic concerns and crooked teeth. Using clear aligners instead of the traditional wire and bracket system of normal braces, Invisalign provides the care you want without many people noticing you’re straightening your teeth.

Another draw of Invisalign is not having to change your diet. The aligners can be taken out to eat, so you don’t have to worry about avoiding foods. While the aligners need to be worn 22 hours a day, you have the freedom to take them out for meals, your oral healthcare routine, and cleaning the aligners. Invisalign is often the ideal choice to get the even smile you want.

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that is comfortable, convenient and virtually unnoticeable. This clear aligner system is for patients needing mild to moderate orthodontia for both cosmetic and dental health concerns. It is suitable for both teen and adult patients and used to treat a variety of orthodontic concerns including:

  • Crooked teeth
  • Tooth crowding
  • Spaces between teeth
  • Narrow tooth arches
  • Underbite or overbite
  • Crossbite
  • TMJ Disorder

Cost of Invisalign

The national average is $5,000 per case, but the cost of Invisalign treatment can vary greatly from one individual to another. The number of aligners needed to achieve the desired results is one of the main factors that go into the cost. Minor straightening cases can be very affordable, often costing as little as $2,000 to $3,000. Unfortunately, dental insurance does not usually cover Invisalign but we offer financing options and convenient payment methods. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Cappy Sinclair in his Norfolk VA cosmetic dentistry office to get an estimate on the cost.

The Invisalign Process

The first step in the process involves taking a mold of your mouth at our Virginia Beach VA dentist office. This mold is sent through specialized Invisalign software to determine how your teeth should look after the treatment. These will be used to accurately plan your treatment.

With this specialized software, Dr. Sinclair can show you each step of the treatment plan, tracking your teeth’s movements with each set of aligners. We will send the files to the Invisalign laboratory that will then generate several sets of clear plastic aligners to be worn for a specified amount of time each day. The number of aligners and length of your Invisalign treatment will depend on the problem(s) being addressed and desired result.

While the aligners should be removed for eating and cleaning your teeth, you should wear them for most of the day (23 hours a day is suggested). This will allow you to maintain a regular oral hygiene routine and eat foods with not restrictions. Your last aligner will be a retainer, which should be worn as directed each day to keep your teeth from shifting and maintain results.
